THJSL Jewelry Policy

THJSL Jewelry Policy:

Jewerly--No earrings, piercings, watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, wristbands, or hard casts may be worn during practice or game play. Hair bands, if used, must be elastic. Other articles that may be considered by the referee or coach to endanger either the wearer or other players must also be removed. Religious/medical bracelets and necklaces are not considered "jewelry" but must be taped to the body to the satisfaction of the referee. Failure to obey the referee will automaticall disqualify the player from participation until the referee determines the hazard has been resolved. FIFA Law 4--The Player's Equipment states under safety: "A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to himself/herself or another player (including any kind of jewelry).

 
PRACTICE INFORMATION--SPRING K-8TH GRADE SEASON

Please note, all information listed below is general information, we are unable to give specific information until we have teams formed and coaches, players and fields are assigned:

SPRING K-8th Grade:

  • Begins: Practice begins AFTER Spring Break.
  • How often: Once per week (Mon-Fri)

  • What time: 5-6:30 or 6:30-8:00, this will depend on our volunteer coach's schedules and requests (placement requests based on practice time are NOT guaranteed)

  • Where: Spring practices are held throughout the Beaverton area, and may not be in your close in neighborhood. Fields are assigned through THPRD (placement request based on practice location are NOT guaranteed)

  • When will the coach contact me: Coaches will contact players approximately ONE week before practice begins. If you have not heard from a coach by the first week in April, please contact the office.
  • Due to the possibility of extreme weather conditions, practices/games may be postponed/cancelled. No guarantee that practices/games will be made up. Extreme weather conditions are a risk for outdoor sports programs and can happen anytime of year.

*Field availability for practices are limited in the Spring and will be scattered throughout the Beaverton area, travel outside your immediate area may be required

There is NO High School Co-ed soccer during the Spring season

What your player(s) need to bring to EVERY practice:

  • Soccer Ball: Size 3 for K-2nd grade; Size 4 for 3rd-6th grade; Size 5 for 7th-High School
  • Shin Guards
  • Soccer Cleats (cannot be baseball/softball/football cleats)
  • WATER BOTTLE
 
FALL K-8TH GRADE & HIGH SCHOOL CO-ED

FALL K-8TH GRADE & HIGH SCHOOL CO-ED:

Please note, all information listed below is general information, we are unable to give specific information until we have teams formed and players and fields are assigned:

  • Begins: Practice will begin in early August for 2nd-High School. K-1st grade begins a little later in the month.
  • How often: Twice per week (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs), this will depend on our volunteer coach's schedules and requests (placement requests based on practice days are NOT guaranteed)

  • What time: 5:00-6:30 or 6:30-8:00, this will depend on our volunteer coach's schedules and requests (placement requests based on practice time are NOT guaranteed) Practice times adjust in the Fall due to earlier sunsets.

  • Where: Fall practices will be held in the South Beaverton area, generally in the Beaverton/Southridge HS attendance boundary

  • When will the coach contact me: Coaches will contact players approximately ONE week before practice begins. If you have not heard from a coach by mid August, please contact the office.

  • Due to the possibility of extreme weather conditions, practices/games may be postponed/cancelled. No guarantee that practices/games will be made up. Extreme weather conditions are a risk for outdoor sports programs and can happen anytime of year.

Concussion Information

A concussion is a brain injury. Concussions are caused by a bump or blow to the head and can be serious. You can't see a concussion. Signs and symptoms can appear immediately after the injury or sometimes not until days/weeks later. If your child reports any symptoms or a concussion, or if you notice the symtoms, it is important to seek medical attention immediately. If your child receives a concussion, or exhibits the signs or symptoms, they will be removed from play and will NOT be allowed to return to practice/games until cleared by a medical professional.
